Remember
In Psalm 137 (NIV) three times “remember” is used. Is there any significance in this word? First Israel remembered Zion when they in a foreign country. Second, if there is not any remembrance in the life of the Israelite, situations will become increasingly tough and unpleasant. Third, confessing remembrance before Yahweh builds strength and confidence that the Warrior will fight and defend the believer in Christ.

To remember is essential in our walk with the Lord. However, most of us remember when we are in trouble – in a strange land, when we are in tough times, or what the enemy does to our surroundings and loved ones. In all these situations, the Warrior comes through and demonstrates His sovereignty and on demand we can sing the “songs of joy”.

To remember is significant in our relation with the Lord. He will come through, but maybe it will not be on our terms and conditions. We simply have to step back and let the Lord reveal Himself to the people around us. These things happen to the body of Christ to attract the people to the Warrior who is willing to bring them into His merciful arms. In the meantime, can we pick up our instruments of praise and open our mouths with “songs of joy”. That will confuse the enemy.
