| What is Revival? |
|
The Church uses "revival" as a term to attract people to church so that people are given an opportunity to find the Lord Jesus Christ. Not a bad idea! Then, why is it that mostly Christians come to "revival" meetings? Does not "revival" mean "to bring back from the dead"? I thought Christians are alive because of the life of Christ? Are Christians dead? I hope not and I think not! So, why use the term "revival"? I am not too sure! I do remember that when there were revival meetings at North Pole Assembly of God there were people that came to the meetings and they did not know the Lord; and they found a living Savior that they accepted Him into their lives. What a change! Maybe what the Church means is "renewal". Yes, the Christian needs to be renewed in their spirit! They are caught with the various technologies and busy schedules that they are literally worn out! Church services are a place where the Christian can be renewed. Then the Church (the Body of Christ goes out into the world and brings a wonderful message of life whereby the lost is revived and brought from spiritual darkness and death into the life of Christ. By the way; the non-believer can find the Lord Jesus Christ during any type of service that the Church conducts! What is your opinion on revival? |
