Last night at 1:30 AM, May 14th, we touched down in Singapore! It felt
so good to have our feet back on the ground. From the time we left
Billings, MT at 7:55 AM, May 12th to touch down in Singapore it was 27
hours and 35 mintues of flying time including transient time in
airports.
All of the flights were good with the exceptions of a few
rough spots. Between the west coast of the US and Seoul, South Korea
there was a head wind that slowed down our progress.
What did Barb
do on the plane? Well, she read, slept, played her Soduku game that she
received from Blaine, slept, watched a little TV, slept, etc.
What
did Weldyn do? He definitely slept more than Barb! I started a Nicholas
Sparks book: "True Believer". I watched some TV between San Fran and
Seoul. One movie was the "Notebook" from the story that Nicholas Sparks
wrote. It was very touching and reminded me a lot of the way Barb''s
folks are at their stage in their life.
What emotions did we have
upon landing in Singapore? It was good to be back to our second home!
Oh, the stifling heat and humidity is unbearable! But, my bones seem to
like it! Oh no! What does that mean? But, I like the seasons! But, I
will have to admit that I did not wake up this morning feeling achy!
The maturing years are challenging! We are excited to see the students
and faculty and administrators of the College. But, yet there is the
otherside of being a little nervous upon seeing everyone. That just
comes with the territory.
It was such a joy to see Phil and Lisa,
who met us last night at the airport! They are so wonderful, kind, and
warm. We like being around them! They look good and are doing well!
This
morning I gave Barb a Mother's Day card. It was on the humorous side of
life. I told her that Blaine and Christy did it that way and I had to
carry that tradition out. I gave her a package of gum to make sure that
she had enough while in Singapore! I hate to see grown women cry over
the lack of chewing gum! This morning I read to her Proverbs 31: 10ff.
It expressed my heart to her.
