Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

Greetings from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia! Ulaanbaatar is the capital city of Mongolia. The country of Mongolia is a landlocked nation with about 30% of the people being nomadic. The population is around 2.8 million (2011 Census). Around 59% of the population is under 30 years old and about 27% of the population is under 14 years old (2007 census).

Since Barb and I have been coming here commencing in 2000 there has been a lot building and in recent years high-end shops, plazas, and hotels have entered the country. Daily people from the countryside move into the city. The weather is very enjoyable at this time of the year. Currently the temperature is 45 degrees F. For some of you that sounds cold, but it is wonderful!

The landscape of Mongolia and beautiful and many parts of it remind Barb and I of Montana! Montana is the Big Sky Country while Mongolia is The Blue Sky Country!

Please pray for these wonderful and beautiful people. 53% are Tibet Buddhist (another resource claims that 90% of the people are attached to a form of Buddhism — http://www.state.gov/j/drl/rls/irf/2010/148885.htm) and 39% are Atheists.

Mongolians love horses. Lonely Planet reports that there are 13 horses per 1 human!

Have a wonderful day! Please earnestly pray for the unreached and least reached peoples of the world! Please pray for the 2500 languages around the world that do not have the Scripture in their own language.
